Questions about Learning & Writing

Product

What are Magic Copybooks?

Practice books with letters, numbers, lines and simple sums pressed into the paper as grooves. Your child traces them with the magic pen. After a while the ink fades by itself, and the page can be used again.

What is included in the Set of 4?

4 Magic Copybooks (Letters, Numbers, Drawing & Lines, Maths), 1 magic pen and spare refills.

How big are the books?

The books measure 25 × 17.5 cm and have 8 sheets each. They are made of 300 g/m² card, coated on one side, with a spiral binding.

Which topics are there?

Four: Letters (capital letters from A to Z), Numbers (digits and counting), Drawing & Lines (waves, arches, zigzags) and Maths (first additions with dots).

Are the books and the pen also available individually?

Yes. Each book is available individually, and so is the magic pen (without spare refills). You will find everything under All products.

Using the books

How long does it take for the ink to disappear?

Usually about 10 minutes. Depending on room temperature and humidity, it can be a little faster or slower.

How often can a page be used?

As often as your child likes. Over time the paper can wear a little with frequent practice, especially if your child presses very hard.

Can my child use a normal pen as well?

Please don't. Pencil, ballpoint or felt-tip pen stay on the paper and cannot be removed. Only with the kikolu magic pen does the writing disappear again.

How do I change the refill?

Take the empty refill out of the pen, insert a new magic refill and close the pen again.

Are the books suitable for left-handed children?

Yes. The spiral binding is at the top, so it does not get in the way of right- or left-handed children.

How do I look after the books and the pen?

Put the cap back on after practising, store the books in a dry place and keep them out of the sun and away from the radiator. Only use the magic pen.

Age and practice

From what age are the Magic Copybooks suitable?

From 3 years. The set contains small parts (for example refills and cap) and is therefore not suitable for children under 36 months.

Which book suits which age?

As a guide: Drawing & Lines from 3 years, Numbers from about 4 years, Letters and Maths from about 5 years. Every child has their own pace, and switching back and forth is fine.

How long should my child practise in one go?

Short and regular is usually better than long sessions. Five to ten minutes are enough to start with. Better to stop while it is still fun.

Do the books prepare children for school?

The books can be a playful addition for getting to know shapes, numbers and letters. We do not promise any learning results. They do not replace kindergarten or school, nor support from professionals.

Safety

Is the set suitable for toddlers?

No. Warning: Not suitable for children under 36 months. Small parts. Choking hazard. Contains small parts (refills, cap) that can be swallowed. Keep spare refills and cap out of reach of children under 3.

Who should change the refills?

Ideally an adult. Keep spare refills out of reach of small children.
